Papaver Somniferum

The opium poppy is a species of flowering plant in the Papaveraceae (poppy family) that originated in eastern Mediterranean. Known for its psychotropic and sedative properties it is considered a magical plant associated with black magic. A sacred and hallucinogenic plant, in 4000 B.C. appears carved on a Sumerian stone table symbolized by two cuneiform characters meaning “plant” and “joy” respectively. His planet is the moon.
